Aplomb Translations was set up by two friends in 1989, to provide high-end translations to legal and financial businesses.  Way back in ’89, there were fewer translation companies, and most provided services in only a handful of languages.  Aplomb was the first London company to specialise in supplying legal and financial translations in ALL languages.  Aplomb began life in a studio at Panther House, Mount Pleasant, Clerkenwell, just a short walk away from the legal heart of London.  In the old days, couriers and fax machines made the city hum.  Aplomb still has the handwritten meeting minutes recording the decision to purchase its first fax machine.

From one computer with locoscript and a fax machine, Aplomb has grown and expanded globally – right alongside many of our clients.  Throughout the years, Aplomb has moved to progressively larger premises, always within easy walking distance of the Law Courts.  After 15 years on Chancery Lane, we have now relocated to lovely offices at Staple Inn.

Over the years, Aplomb’s network of clients and translators has expanded exponentially and, in the process, so has our expertise and knowledge.   Global communication is now a focus of our customers.   As it has always been our main priority, we are well placed as a top London language service provider to assist our clients’ international growth through multi-lingual support for marketing, contractual documentation,  business communication, patents, compliance and even internal communication between various foreign branches.  We regularly translate multinational company newsletters and proofread internal policy directives, communications and training manuals.

Aplomb has also always stayed ahead with our technology.  We pride ourselves on adopting innovative solutions for security, confidentiality, accuracy and speed.  There was a time when we thought we could translate no faster.  However, each year, with technological advances, we get speedier.

The one thing that has not changed is our attitude to service.  We aim to please and we work round the clock to fulfil your requests.  We continue to evolve and grow through Aplomb’s inspired development process:  to better serve our customers. Our unique, personal approach in dealing with our clients and our translators, has ensured that our language services remain top rate.  Aplomb has even taken this a step further and developed specialised translator training programmes to ensure that our superlative standards of linguistic service are maintained.
